I had to download a new web browser to be able to get on the Blog finally.
And I'm about 3/4 of the way through "H" and its a lot easier reading that the last few readings in the sense that it's written in the way people actually speak orally today. Its also pretty weird in the sense that your getting all these different perspectives about whats going on from all different characters and you dont actually hear from the protagonist of the story until about half way through the book. i like the style of the story though, using letters from different characters to get a sense of whats happened instead of just telling a story in a straight narrative form. Elizabeth Shepard does a great job. You still create all the images of the story without her having to break her form of letter writing.
Cursed Inhabitants of the House of Bly can be found as a hyperlink in the texts section of the Syllabus (the first post on the blog).
ReplyDeleteI love that you're reading ahead..however...pace yourself and us a bit---we need to do some work on manifest/latent as a reading methodology!
Oh by the way...notice how often letters are surfacing in all these narratives...???
